Vector art and programming

It might be a little too late for starting to learn those two.
Vector art -> Is kind of cool, I'd rather do AVS unfortunately there's no winamp for linux, and there's no way I'm getting windows again. Still, I'll get myself a virtual machine and continue doing avs. In the meantime I think I'll be able to do some fun stuff with my precious inkscape.
Perl -> The path of the programmer wouldn't be much funny if it wasn't for Perl and the llama book (coincidence?? I don't think so. Llamas rule!)
Anyhow, some might say I'm old for those things, but I guess there's no age for doing art or programming. So old people of the world, do some programming... just make sure you don't bother your maintenance programmer or your system administrator with your rubbish first scripts apps and progs.
